The German painter Carl Spitzweg (February 5, 1808 — September 23, 1885) is one of my favourite artists. I first discovered his work at the Dresden Gallery and immediately fell in love with his paintings, filled with light and warmth, reflecting the everyday lives of ordinary people with humour and kindness.

Spitzweg, who began his journey as a self-taught artist, became a symbol of the idea that talent can emerge at any moment if there is desire and perseverance. Painting can be both an inspiration and a source of joy for millions of people.

His work corresponded to the spirit of the Biedermeier era, which in Europe was characterized by a striving for harmony, coziness, and emotional depth. His paintings, such as The Poor Poet (1839) and The Love Letter (1839), transformed everyday scenes into vivid stories filled with warmth and irony.
